Little Tiny Umbrellas

6 December 2007 No Comment

December is upon us, another Christmas is approaching. It seem to come so fast, the year are flying by, aren’t they? it seems that way. I am happy to say my shopping is pretty much done and has been since last weekend, including the stockings. There might be a few little things here and there, but no major shopping trips needed. YAY! I am not a shopper, unless of course, it’s for say…a laptop computer or something to that effect, then please, give me the money and send me on my way. lol

picture-047.jpgBaby turned two last week, you may have seen my retrospective of his short little life this far. A flip seems to have been switched literally overnight. He was my little laid back easy going guy, and overnight he is now Mister Mine. Everything is “mine” and the answer to everything is “NO!” The laidbackness (is that a word?) seems to be disipating. I took Baby for his 2 year checkup last Friday and guess what, if you follow this blog you know of his eating issues…and the PED so wonderfully told me, it’s fine. IT’S FINE?????? I still have to feed this child stage 3 baby food and it’s fine???? That stuff is nutricious and it’s better than what most toddlers eat at this age, namely chicken nuggets and mac & cheese so what’s the problem? He sees nothing wrong with it and thinks it’s fine and at least I don’t have to worry about him getting the proper nutrients. Lovely. I guess I see that point, but man am I sick of buying those friggin little expensive jars!

picture-036.jpgYesterday, rather unexpected, we put up the Christmas tree, it was planned for Saturday, but a meeting at Big Boy’s school brought Daddy home early and he deided, “let’s get the tree.” Ok. The kids had a blast though, they were so excited and it went rather well because genius mommy that I am, last year, bought some of those special ornament storage containers and everything was in these two containers and so easy. Love it!

So, I am feeling very, umm, retrospective lately, thinking about the years gone by, etc…not sure why, guess it’s pretty normal for this time of year, tis the season to think about the past, plan for the future, and be merry and bright or you could walk around saying bah humbug!

Twice in past years, before children, in the first week of December, hubby and I were on the high seas, sailing away in the Carribean on cruise ships. Ok one of those times, I was pregnant, but let me tell you, cruise ships make lovely virgin fruity cocktails that you would never even know did not have the alcohol in them. Lovely really. I miss those drinks. And the little umbrellas. That’s what I am thinking about this week. Little tiny umbrellas.
