Return from a much needed Mommy Time

28 August 2007 No Comment

Well, the weekend was lovely. The time alone in Montreal was fantastic. I was really alone too, my parents were never home while I was there. The play was great, I understood pretty much everything even though it was in Italian, which I wasn’t sure I would. It was really funny. Got to briefly see my uncle and aunt before they headed off to the next place, Ottawa and then Toronto. Saturday morning I went to a late brunch with my brothers and had a fabulous Pain Dore (french toast basically) but man was it good. The bread was 1 inch thick and it was arranged fancily on the plate, with syrop and strawberries. Yummy!

The drive back south to the lake was uneventful, didn’t even have any trouble at the border, and the kids were fine and did great, although Baby was a little annoyed with me. He refused to come hug me or even look at me for about 10 minutes when he saw me. He got over it though, since grandma left to go to church he had no choice, he was stuck with me. lol

And the weather was some of the best we’d had all summer up there, it was hot and sunny and Sunday wasn’t too bad, cloudy morning, but cleared up nicely. Of course, Sunday afternoon I got a call from Hubby who had stayed home. He broke his ankle playing golf. Oh the joy, you know men and injury. Now I have 3 children. lol So we headed back Monday morning to tend to the injured daddy and get back to normal life, and thus I am off to the grocery store to replenish the cubboards…

Serously moms, get thy selves a Mommy Time moment whenever you can!

Oh and PS: I did not win the contest, but don’t worry, I won’t be asking for votes again. I got a bad feeling in my stomach on Friday afternoon when even though the leader was 30 votes ahead of me, the closest behind her, seeing me get a few votes had her suddenly lash back with 12 votes in 5 minutes. Not sure exactly how a person can do that, since nobody has been able to do anything of the kind during this contest thus far. Didn’t make much sense to me, and I felt like it was high school nonsense. She even voted for herself, which no, there is nothing stating you cannot do that, but I wouldn’t do it, I would not want to win that way and she was so far ahead anyways it was just ridiculous to me. There were multiple votes from the same people and so on, so I stopped looking at it till I checked on Sunday and of course she won. Whatever. I’m done with that. It’s a great contest with fabulous prizes and will really benefit those who can win, but basically, she with the biggest mailing list is always going to win. I know the contest sponsors don’t want to have to pick a winner because that is tough and not always fair either, so they went this route. But it’s a popularity contest now. I am not sure what other way it could be done, but as is, I won’t be trying again. Too much stress! lol I appreciate all the comments though, and it was nice to see what people wrote, even some clients voted for me and were so kind. So some good did come out of it. lol
