Happy Mother’s Day!

13 May 2007 No Comment

Happy Mother’s Day to all Moms! Hope you are relaxing and having a wonderful day.

Me, not so much, Hubby won’t be back from his weekend trip till this afternoon and apparently 4 year olds don’t really get the whole Mother’s Day, pamper mom thing yet. So…

Ahh, so yesterday evening I got to experience one of the many joys of motherhood. I got to take my boys to a birthday party at Jeepers. One of those indoor play places, half arcade, half amusement park, mostly loud birthday fun. Seriously loud, friggin loud speakers calling the birthday groups back to their tables for food, cake and pinata time, they scared Baby everytime! Big Boy is still a little on the young side and Baby, well, ya ok, you know how that goes, but he was fairly good considering I had to hold him or put him in the stroller the entire time. There were some rides for Big Boy that he enjoyed and the birthday boy’s older brother and sister, who are the kids I watch after school 3 days a week were really good about coming and getting him and taking him on things and with them. I’ve been afraid of those places quite frankly so had not ventured to one yet, but it’s not so bad, when he’s a bit older though. What surprised me the most was he loved the roller coaster, a small indoor one, but it packed a pretty good punch it seemed and went through a dark tunnel, it was like a miniature space mountain I guess. He went on with another child, a friend of the birthday boy and at first when it took off, his head jerked back I though for sure he’d start crying from the shock, but when it came around the first time, he was smiling and it went around 4 times and he was smiling and even laughing the last time. He got off and said he wanted to go again. His other personality, Wuss Boy, apparently was taking the afternoon off. Big Boy even ate an entire slice of pizza. Yes, this is significant because he’s never eaten pizza before and has always refused to try saying he doesn’t like it and crying if you try to force him to try it. I just picked it up and said here take a bite and he did and then he ate the whole thing. Yay, one more food to add to the list of things he’ll eat now. Nonna better make pizza next time we visit.

Enjoy the day ladies…it only comes but once a year…although it seems like any other day to me, other than I sent Big Boy out to fetch the paper for me.
