What is this world coming too??? Last night on the news there was a story about a local hospital going into lockdown for 2 hours yesterday. It seems a letter arrived and when it was opened, low and behold, a bizarre white powder substance came out. They locked down the hospital, nobody could go in or our for 2 hours. They assured the reporters patients were not affected and business as usual went on in the hospital while they tried to determine what this mysterious white powder was. I don’t know, not being able to let people in or out of a hospital seems a little bit disrupting to me, but whatever you say powers that be.

After all that, they told us what the mysterious white powder was. The letter came from Florida and it appears that the friend or relative of a patient that sent it was enjoying some beach fun while writing this letter to their hospital bound friend/relative and some beach sand got onto it or into the envelope. Beach Sand. They shut down a hospital because sand fell out of an envelope. Seriously.

Obviously, even though it’s been years since the anthrax scare, people still freak out a little while opening the mail. It’s kinda sad really, that something so stupid can cause so much havoc just because of a crazy person who did something years ago.

Note to everyone in Florida, don’t write letters on the beach ok. You are disrupting life in the northeast when your fun in the sun leaves white sand in envelopes heading north on I-95.
