1. Tell us a little about your business and why your started it.

I fell head over heels in love with internet audio and the work at home community. I wanted to serve the community in a new way and internet radio was almost unheard of at the time so providing content through audio was fresh and exciting.

2. What are some ways you market your business? What method has worked best for you?

Strategic partnerships have been the best method. Making friends with others who reach my target market and finding a way to work together. I’ve also done quite a lot of article and special report marketing.

3. What has been most rewarding about working for yourself?

Getting debt free and being able to quit my day job so that I could become a full time stay at home mom rates right up there. But also, I just love what I do. I’m thrilled to have the chance to help other moms break free from a J O B and have the freedom to stay home with their kids.

4. What has been most frustrating?

I can’t say that there is anything frustrating me right now. The biggest challenges have been learning new technologies along the way but that’s also fun for the geek in me so I don’t even complain about that.

5. How do you handle working at home with children?

My son is going to be seventeen in just a few months so I don’t deal with the issues that a mom with small children or babies deal with. Still, a teenager needs attention and can often go above and beyond to get mom’s attention when it’s lacking. I build a cushion into my daily schedule so that I can stop and spend time with him when he needs it. We have an understanding that he is always welcome in my home office, he is careful to come into the office quietly and looks at the telephone and computer screen to see if I’m recording an interview or I’m on a coaching call before he talks to me. (Don’t you wish you could teach five year olds the same thing? LOL!) If I’m on the phone, he’ll write me notes – or he’ll instant message me from his computer in the living room. It’s just the two of us and it’s easy to fall into a rut of eating out or eating junk. I make it a point to cook several hot homemade meals each week, oftentimes it’s breakfast since he just loves waking up to the smell of bacon or sausage. (You can’t imagine how a plate of homemade hash browns makes a young man’s day start out right!)

6. What advice do you have for others starting their own home business?

Don’t make a decision too quickly about anything. Seek out a successful mentor for advice and feedback. It really does make a difference.

7. What are your absolute favorite products or resources you can’t live without in your business?

The excellent support and service offered at http://www.momswebs.com. Nothing is worse for an internet business than a quirky or unreliable hosting service.

8. Do you involve your kids in your business, if so how?

He is my official label sticker for The WC Mini Mag. I’ve tried to get him interested in the web side of things but he’s more into his video games than anything else.

9. How many children do you have?

Just the one.

10. What is your favorite quick & easy meal to make after a busy day?

Any kind of Pasta and garlic bread. Boil One Box of Bowtie Pasta Add One Jar of Alfredo Sauce Add Two Cubed Cooked Chicken Breasts Add One Head of Fresh Cooked Broccoli Heat and eat! Or Boil Spaghetti Spray a Cake Pan and put cooked Spaghetti in it Add One Jar of Spaghetti Sauce Cover with Shredded Motz Cheese Bake for 20 Minutes or until Cheese looks bubbly delicious.

11. Do you have any last comments you’d like to add?

The moms who I see making a good income from home are focusing on one target market and making a name for themselves. I encourage others to do the same!
