I fear I may have mislead you, you see, no, I am not exactly baker extraordinaire…but I can cook, somewhat. My signature dish is a super fattening, but oh so yummy pasta dish. Ok, I cannot take credit for the recipe, but I’ll share it none-the-less.
Penne a la Vodka
1/2 stick butter
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2/3 cups vodka
3/4 cup canned tomato puree
1 cup heavy cream
1/4 lbs cooked ham, finely chopped
2 drops hot sauce
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp finely ground black pepper
1 lb penne
3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

Last night I brought my 4 month old in for his 2nd round of routine vaccinations. Pretty normal occurence, right?  So as I checked him in at reception, I was handed a survey.  The receptionist asked that I complete it and give it to the attending nurse.  Not thinking anything of it, I took it and brought it to the waiting room to complete.  Now imagine my surprise when I realized what the survey was about…  Breastfeeding.  Yes, they wanted to know things like:

Something strange happened to me this morning…  After my 2 minute shower - wait, that’s not the strange part, I toweled off and combed my hair. It was then that I realized that I had bangs.  No, I didn’t go to the hairdresser earlier in the week, it seems that Mother Nature herself had decided to surprise me with this new totally uneven, and most unmanageable little fringe of a hairdo.
Oh sure, I had been losing the odd clump of hair here and there in the shower, which I had attributed to the whole hormone rebalancing …

And here we go again…another spark to add fuel to the fire of the so called “mommy wars” was set off last night. A report on the Night News with Brian Williams talked about a recent study conducted on children who attend daycare. Basically saying, being in daycare children become more aggressive and arguementative. But at the same time, also stated that they also have better verbal and social skills. See the video here.

Yesterday was a nice day, not so much weather-wise, but a friend of mine came over for a [tag]playdate[/tag]. Ok, so I guess technically, the kids don’t really play together, their ages are not so condusive to “together play” as Big Boy was marking his territory and not wanting to share certain (every) things. Visitor Boy being way TOO accomodating and letting Big Boy get away with it all, but he’s only 2. And Baby, well being a baby, really was not a part of the equation at all, he …
