Winter baby or cold weather climate?
I usually don’t endorse many things unless I absolutely believe in them 100%. So you know if I’m mentioning it, then it’s got to be good.
This morning as I loaded up my little clan into the SUV in -18 degree winter weather, I breathed a sigh of relief for my “p’tit coulou” infant carrier seat cover. Yes, it’s one of those covers that allows you to keep your baby in their PJ’s and not outfit them in a giant snowsuit. The nice thing about this one is that rather than being a simple polar fleece or canvas bag (brrrr…) it comes with a liner to keep the base insulated and the cover zip part encloses the baby in like an igloo. That’s actually what the design is based on.
Basically you just pop the baby in with a hat, do up your usual seat harness, and off you go. What a timesaver it has been. As I bundle up my toddler in her layers of winterwear (a task that takes 1/2 hr. on a good day), I am always relieved to know that after that wrestling match, getting my infant ready will take me all of 45 sec. Ahhhh…..
At first glance you might be thinking, “Can the baby breathe?” and “Will they be warm enough?.” The answer to both these questions is “Yes!” Everytime I take my son out, he’s as toasty as a cinnamon bun. I found it at one of those higher end children’s boutiques (they also have an online store) but I’m certain it’s available elsewhere too. Just in case you have a hard time finding it, here’s their site: http://www.anaya.ca/homeen.htm
I cannot recommend this enough. It’s also an indispensable gift for any girlfriends having winter babies. Trust me, they will thank you for it!!!
